Join us on this day excursion to the picturesque Lake District in Cumbria, & today we travel to the beautiful lake-land village of GRASMERE, famed for it’s stunning scenery, St Oswald’s church, Rydal Mount, Dove Cottage & museum, once home of the poet William Wordsworth, who described it as ‘The most loveliest spot that man hath found’ set alongside Grasmere Lake shrouded by a panorama of mountains & fells that provide the perfect atmosphere, so beloved not only by Wordsworth but countless romantic poets through the ages. A fabulous visit is included today to SARAH NELSON’S Famous Gingerbread Shop, for a Pit Stop where you will be served tea/coffee/ their famous & delicious gingerbread & oak cakes, plus, a guided tour giving you all the fascinating history of this famous gingerbread shop, where Sarah Nelson first perfected her Grasmere gingerbread in 1854. Step inside this atmospheric aromatic unique building, with all its quirky nooks and crannies and original interior from a bygone era, plus so much more.
Later we will travel on for a short visit to the market town of AMBLESIDE , standing at the head of Windermere surrounded by some of England’s finest scenery & Lakeland fells this stunning town is delightful, visit its quirky Bridge House, Armitt museum, independent shops, cafes, restaurants, bask in lakeside strolls & savour everything this tranquil town has to offer. A lovely, fun day excursion for all the family to enjoy.
